• Devoting an entire week of his time to Kelly meant shifting some of his work onto the shoulders of his brother Jace, as he couldn't ask for more from Milo. The CEO of the company, always busy, had been delegating tasks in order to spend time with his wife and daughter, and had no intentions of bothering him.
• The almost unheard"of fact that he took time away from the company piqued Jace's curiosity, of course, as evidenced by questions that he didn't satisfy, much to Jace's annoyance. This probably generated even more curiosity. At least it gave him something extra to think about, which wasn't a bad thing for the grumpy, too serious, and not very fun"loving Jace Monahan.
• He wanted to keep his intentions with the beautiful pastry chef a secret. Not that he was one to shout his conquests to the wind, although those around him tended to think they were extensive and short"lived, partly due to his cynical and indifferent attitude.
