• Adolph did, after all, really want the money, not Jeffrey's life. Adolph stopped his troops upon noticing that Jeffrey's howling was growing weaker and weaker. He took a quick look at the nearly lifeless Jeffrey and looked away.
• He turned to face Stella. "I never thought you would be so callous. Even so, you did nothing but stand and watch. He is, after all, your father, right?”
• Stella's throat was parched. "If he still cared about my brother and me, he wouldn't have done such a thing," she responded after a little pause.
