• With an air of incivility, Clarence said, "How did you win the award with such acting skills? It appears that year's judges were blind.”

• With his head turned, Clarence observed the woman laboring hard at her desk at the foot of the stage, moving back and forth as she worked. He casually rested one hand on the armrest, allowing his long fingers to twitch a little. Stella was not fit to be described as a "new sweetheart." 'Mrs. Conrad' fit her better, even though he did not want to acknowledge it, than the terms 'new sweetheart and the person that is loved before'. Clarence felt a little irritated at the thought. Why had she not come to ask him yet? Was it because the one-month period he gave was too long?
