Chapter 18 18 Marry Me
- My head was throbbing, and as I tried to open my eyes, I could feel the pulsating pain behind my temples, making it difficult to focus on anything else. The bright light filtering through my closed eyelids only intensified the pounding sensation.
- “You are awake,” a soothing voice said, causing me to slowly open my eyes and squint against the brightness. My vision slowly adjusted as I took in my surroundings, realizing I was in a hospital room.
- A stranger was standing next to my bed, holding a syringe filled with medication. “You must be feeling pain,” the stranger said, gently injecting the medication into my IV. “Your head hurt, but more than that, you were very malnourished. You should take care of yourself better, especially when you are carrying a new life.”
