• That evening James welcomed all the men from their pack and they went to the dining room. Shoran had bought snacks and drinks and had carefully arranged them on the table. She excused herself and went upstairs. This was a men’s only meeting.
• “Where’s Kiran?” Carl asked James as they stood around the table pouring drinks. Normally it would be Kiran that received them at the house when Malachi was unavailable.
