• Leaning into the fluffy armchair I sat on, I bobbed my head back and forth, letting the silence in the study seep into my thoughts. I smiled as the thought of Xander being such a tease last night flashed through my mind. He was really growing on me, and I didn't want it to end soon or forever. I rubbed at my belly, letting the proud smile spread out on my lips.
• Last night I had been worried I would be saddled with nightmares of my father. But I was surprised at how much sleep I had gotten. I slept peacefully like a baby. The torment of having to worry about my messed up family was finally over. All I want is to focus on being happy with Xander and my unborn cub.
