• The sounds I heard after Becca's announcement sounded like a cathedral bell. The earth moved underneath me, and all that mattered was whether Sonia would be okay.
• We practically ran the rest of the way to the guest quarters, hurrying to Sonia's room. I found her seated on the couch, her legs outstretched on the table. Athena was by her side, blowing her some air with a large hand fan. It looked amusing, considering the fact that the air conditioner was on full blast.
