Chapter 101
- The array of small cubicles that fitted into the long corridor was occupied with every kind of medical emergency. Humans with stethoscopes dangling around their neck, carts tightly under their grips, or surgical equipment close to their gaze overlooked the helpless humans stuck on beds with hard mattresses and dull bedsheets. In one of these cubicles, Collins stood, with his ward coat carelessly worn over his body, and exchanged glances from the report in his hand to the lady lying on the bed.
- It was his second time in the room and he wanted to be the one to break the news to her. More importantly, he wanted to do so before Denzel came.
- He sighed, considered leaving the room, and sat down instead. His shift was over and he was just a regular visitor. He watched her for the umpteenth time and wondered if he was doing the right thing by sitting by her bedside. He glanced through the report again.
