• Her eyes were red and some tears had formed in her eyes. I heard her sniff before shoving all of her hair back. Her cheek was red and swollen and she wore an angry frown. I smiled immediately. The frown gave her a different form of beauty.
• "Don't let me get to the front door before you," I told her and turned around to leave. Pete followed suit and when we were at the stairs leading down, I saw her hurrying after us.
