Chapter 17 Leo

• I sat back on the only sofa in the room where Mae was kept after she was brought back to me. I lifted a tumbler to my lips, it was partly filled with whiskey. As I sipped continuously from it, I kept my eyes on Mae. She should be awake and conscious anytime soon.
• She squirmed and turned in the bed before sitting up. I watched her hold her head for some seconds before looking around to see where she was. Her eyes met mine when she looked in my direction. I smiled. It was humorous to catch the look on her face. It was a look that exposed how terrified she was to see me sitting in the room when she woke up.
• "How bad is the headache? I'll ask someone to bring you some pills." I knew what she was injected with by my men before being brought here could cause a headache so I asked her.
