Chapter 51

• Laura's heart was racing as she walked down the hallway. Tonight was different. For the first time, she felt like she belonged with Daniel's family. But then, there was Edward Reynolds. He had been so kind to her earlier, but she couldn't shake the fear that Harriet would turn him against her.
• Laura glanced at herself in the mirror and took a deep breath. She couldn't let her nerves get the best of her. As she walked out of the bathroom, Daniel appeared and called out to her.
• "Dad wants to see you," he said, his tone suspicious.
