• Laura smiled, feeling grateful for his kindness. She hugged him back and then left, hoping that one day she could be free from Daniel's control.
• As Daniel and his Mom waited for Laura's return, tension filled the room. It was already 9:00 pm and Laura was nowhere to be found. When Laura finally walked in, Daniel was already seething with anger and demanded to know where she had been all this time.
