Chapter 67

• I open my eyes slowly and groan, adjusting to the morning light. I try to move but find I can’t because someone’s hand is wrapped around my waist, keeping me close against him. I smile as the memories of last night come flooding back, sending my heart racing and heat growing between my thighs. We made love last night, and it was better than I could ever imagine; the best part was laying in his arms, talking all night about all the miscommunication over the last two years. I explain properly why I thought I had to choose Danuel. He seemed unhappy about it, but he was very understanding and supportive. After our conversation, he carried me back to his room, where we made love into the wee hours of the morning. Last night felt like a dream but waking up in his arms lets me know it was real. I turn to face him; he’s still sleeping. My heart feels as if it’s about to burst with joy. He’s mine now and forever; he’s finally mine, after everything. After all of the pain and the tears, I never thought we would get here, we should have been here the moment he told me he loved me at the hotel, but I was too foolish worrying about Danuel’s feelings instead of following my heart.
• “I love you,” I whisper before leaning in and pressing my lips on his. I close my eyes and sigh as I embrace the warmth it sends through my body. His hands tighten around my waist, and he pulls me on top of him. He deepens the kiss as his hands slide down my body, stopping at my butt. He squeezes it and then slaps me lightly on my right buttcheck. I scream more from shock than pain and bite his bottom lip as payback.
