Chapter 57
- “How did you stop? Did it just disappear?” His voice cracks, and my heart cracks right along with it, causing the tears that I’ve been holding back to flow freely. I’m sorry, my love, I’m sorry I keep hurting you.
- “I just stopped.” He laughs bitterly.
- “How do you stop? When you love someone, really love someone, you can’t just stop. Nothing stops it. Not time nor space and not even when she’s in love with someone else.” A tear runs down his cheeks, shattering what’s left of my heart. My body convulses from the pain running through, but it’s a pain I am prepared to endure. I know I’m breaking his heart along with my own, but the only thing I can tell him to ease his pain can’t ever leave my lips. He walks over to the bed and grab his jacket, and pulls it on.
