• I grinned. My pup had the same thought process as me. “We’ll see, pup,” I said and ruffled his hair. Dave grunted as he climbed over my chest and curled his hand around me. Soon he went off to sleep, and I wondered whether it was because he had also spent sleepless nights when his mother wasn’t here. I wrapped him in my embrace and closed my eyes. The comfort of having my pup and my Luna next to me was so immense that I drifted off into dreamless slumber.
