• Karl heaved a frustrated sigh and then pulled my hands away from my face. "Why are you feeling ashamed? I am your husband." He mumbled before stepping away to put some clothes on.
• I inhaled a deep breath as my attention was drawn to the cotton slacks he was wearing, and then I turned my head to look at him in an effort to rein in my extreme timidity. "Not only am I embarrassed, but also... I've got a serious case of the munchies."
• My initial reaction was one of tension, but I quickly recovered and attempted to change the subject, but he interrupted me.
