Chapter 41 A Brother In Need (2)

• We all sat down together for dinner, with Karl taking the place of honor at the head of the table, Robert on his left, and me to Karl's right. During the meal, we maintained a level of conversation that was more or less silent, with the exception of a few quick pleasantries.
• After putting down his fork, Robert made the following suggestion: "How about we play a game after dinner?"
• Karl indicated his assent with a nod of his head. "Let's dive right in and not waste any time. I'm going to assume that you haven't had the bitter taste of failure in a very long time. Don't worry though, I'll be sure to remind you, "Karl made a joke, which prompted Robert to provide a forceful response.
