Chapter 3 The Red Room
- His words shocked me even more, mainly because of his malicious tone, which caused me to become terrified all of a sudden.
- In an effort to make sense of what he had said, I tried to compose myself and gather my thoughts.
- "Karl, what the heck is going on around here?!!" I inquired in between glances at my husband.
- I had a feeling things weren't going to go well for me. My veins are pulsing with anxiety and tension from the stress.
- I kept hoping that what I had seen was nothing more than a bad dream and that I would soon wake up from it.
- "Look around you, darling, because everything in this room was designed with you in mind. You are currently ensconced within my underworld, and you will remain there until I command you to leave. Until then, it is incumbent upon you to gratify all of my needs."
- The moment he finished speaking, he shoved me against the wall with such intensity that it caused me to groan in agony.
- He pressed his hands against the wall, pinning me between them, and focused his attention on my eyes as he did so.
- His face was strange, and he was not the Karl I was accustomed to knowing. His looks terrified me, but I made an effort to keep myself under control.
- Perhaps someone is playing a joke on me.
- I looked at him as I chuckled to myself in apparent disbelief. I encircled his face with my hands and stared intently into his eyes, hoping to divine some hidden meaning.
- "Baby, I know you're joking with me, but please stop. This is not something I feel like doing right now." I said, trying to put together strings of theories of what he was doing in order not to believe the truth which was evident in front of my eyes, especially after seeing what filled the room with things that seemed to be for torture.
- He abruptly removed my hand from his face, and he looked at me with a stern expression on his face.
- "Do you really believe that I am joking with you? Everything in this room is reserved exclusively for you; no one else besides me has ever set foot here. I have more wonderful things in store for you, my love." He said after distancing himself from me by a few inches to evaluate me while rubbing his chin with his hands.
- The events taking place around me were in no way typical.
- I gave him an angry look before gathering up the strength to yell at him about it.
- Do you comprehend the fact that I am your wife and not your whore or your plaything?
- Karl scratched between his eyebrows and his face took on a very different appearance. The feeling of rage permeated his being.
- He moved steadily toward me while clenching his fist and held my jaw firmly in his grip. "Be quick before I lose my cool."
- After gathering my strength, I gave him a shove after glaring in his direction. "Get the hell away from me. You're not the same Karl that captured my heart. I can't continue to live with a psychopath like you."
- I saw him lock the door behind us while we were talking, and he grinned menacingly while pressing his hands to his chest.
- "What's the matter, my little whore, hmm?! Are you sure the door is locked?! What a shame it is that you won't be able to get away from my hell." He made fun of me, which prompted my nerves to reach their breaking point.
- Although I loved him, my rage reached an all-time high.
- I punched his broad chest with my tiny fist, but he did not move even an inch. I do not doubt that my blow had no effect on him at all.
- "Oh, for God's sake, throw open the door. I do not wish to continue living with someone such as you. I'm not here to be your whore. That's not how I am at all."
- Karl had reached the end of his patience. "You are, without a doubt, my little' bitch, and you will continue to be for as long as it takes me to get sick of you. Are you getting it now?" he uttered through his teeth.
- My mind was racing in a million different directions at once. This couldn't possibly be correct.
- I must be losing my mind. It turned out that I had fallen in love with a different man. It was hard for me to accept that he did not love me.
- It turned out that the whole thing had been a performance all along. But why, why did he choose to act in this manner?! I required an explanation as soon as possible.
- I forced myself to swallow my saliva before plucking up the courage to address him directly. "Tell me, Karl, what the heck is going on? What's the point of you doing this?!"
- I waited for an answer, but my hopes were dashed when he said that word again, which made me even more enraged than I already was.
- "Strip! My tolerance is wearing thin and trust me when I tell you that you don't want to know what would happen if you disobeyed my instructions." He spoke while furiously clenching his teeth.
- I won't lie and say that I wasn't frightened by his appearance; however, I rarely pay attention to anyone and never carried out anyone else's instructions.
- I was the favored child in my family, and everyone doted on me.
- "No, I will not!"
- Karl raised one of his eyebrows. "If my wild cat wants to be domesticated, then by all means, my darling!" he said as he made his way back towards me with deliberate steps and a sneering grin plastered across his face.
- Fear prompted me to take a step back, but I ended up colliding with the wall, which brought Karl to stand before me.
- I opened my eyes in shock as soon as I saw what he was holding in his right hand: scissors!
