Chapter 45 My Own Bed

• Alayah’s p.o.v.
• We are enjoying dinner at Jesse’s diner when Mom’s phone starts ringing and she looks surprised when she see the caller-ID flashing Beta Jacob’s name, but I think she is more scared when she finds out that Dad has lost his phone. Beta Jacob explains that Noah called because Dad hadn’t read and answered any of their messages and Alpha Gordon hadn’t liked hearing that Dad hadn’t responded to any message since Thursday.
• Dad grabs his phone to show me and Mom that he has it with him and I ask Mom to give me his number, but when I call him it doesn’t start ringing. We look at one another as I ask Mom to check if I took the number down correctly, she confirms I have the right number and I try calling him again with the same result.
