• It was nice having Galen with me for a few days. I was allowed to go back home for Kieran’s funeral which was a tough moment for us all. Including Cedrick, Kieran’s boyfriend. It was heartbreaking as he placed a small box upon her casket with a flower then kissed the casket before stepping away. I looked up at him as his tear-stained eyes glance at me. I had no idea he had planned on asking Kieran to marry him.
• I felt weak in the knees with emotion at the idea of how she will never know or experience the joy of marriage and children. I had to lean against Galen so I wouldn’t fall and he placed his arm around me to keep me steady. When the casket began to lower the tears rolled down my cheeks. I had a sister for a short time, but with her, in my life, it felt like a lifetime. She will always be my sister forever in my heart.
• A few days later I was back on Staxon to finish my training. Queen Joanita sent the cure, and now it was being distributed to all the hospitals and people were beginning to live their lives once more.
