• He smiled and nodded. I reached up and touched its face, and it began to make a noise much like a gurgled purring. It had scales that covered most of its body and the fuzz around the face was soft like velvet. It was black and shiny, and the wings looked like a mighty dragon’s wings. It also had a very long tail much like a dragon. It is much larger than a tayren. If one were to see one without a rider it would be quite scary looking.
• “These are what you ride on?” I asked patting the animal.
• “He is what I was riding when I caught you as you fell. His name is Dax.” He said rubbing his dregon. “We do have all kinds of other animals. As you know, our atmosphere is different than yours here in your world. That is why our appearance is different from yours, and why I look like, what was it you said? Oh yes, A Vampire.”
