Chapter 15 Snow Bound- Book One

  • A half hour later I noticed a small cave among some big boulders. I pointed towards it, and Porter nodded. We got to the cave, and I suggested I should go in first to make sure it was not a den for hibernating bears.
  • “Excuse me why should you be first to enter? What if there were bears in there?” Porter asked frowning.
  • “Because that happens to be another gift of mine. I can just about tame a wild animal. Not once has one ever tried to attack me.” I smiled at him, “Trust me.” I said as I ventured inside and looked around. I poked my head out of the opening. “It’s all clear,” I said, and he began to unload the sleeping bag and quilts as the winds began to blow the snow harder. I began to set things up and spread out the sleeping bag, so we can sit.
