• Damiano left Catarina, still feeling his heart tighten at the thought of the pain his sister was experiencing. He blamed himself, even though he didn't need to, as if he could have prevented something that happened while he was away.
• There was nothing to be done, regardless of what he felt; it was done.
• What he could do to help her was to stay by her side and try to make up for his years of absence as the brother he never was. He didn't know if that would be enough, but he needed to try. He had to try, otherwise, he would never forgive himself for allowing his sister to lose herself in her mind.
