Chapter 72
- He moved his arms around me, hauled me, and lifted us both from the floor. I disliked the way I didn't bite or kick at him to drop me, I blamed it on the fatigue I felt at the moment. I will fight better tomorrow. His scent alone was easing and the way he carried me like he cared reminded me of the good old days when I had thought he cared. I wrapped my arms around him burying my face in his neck and he murmured something about camping here for the night, food, and setting up a fire. I only nodded not knowing what he said for I was too busy thinking of if to snatch my scrunchie from his head now or later when he was asleep.
- He set me down next to another tree on a more leveled and comfortable footing. I frowned at the loss of his arms around me and his scent filling my senses. He fished out a dagger from his pockets and dropped to his knees before me.
- "What are you about to do?!" I screeched scrambling away but my efforts were thwarted. He grabbed me easily and planted me back in place.
