Chapter 227

• Sofia’s POV
• “There you go.” I heard his voice wash over me and I shivered even more as it dug its way into the deepest part of my head to sit there. I didn’t even know when the trembling stopped and when my eyes drooped, all I knew was that, my head was currently resting against his leg and he was still slowly stroking my hair as his fingers carded softly through my hair strands. I breathed out softly and blinked my eyes open after a few minutes, feeling sated in a weird kind of way. I felt relaxed, I felt taken care of and for a while back there, it felt like I had been unable to think, like all my problems and thoughts had just decided to go away in that particular moment – leaving me empty and almost weightless with nothing to weigh my mind down– it started to feel like my body had been floating.
• “How do you feel, Sofia?” Luca asked after a few more moments. I was still super aware of the fact that my hands had been clasped behind me back the whole time, it hasn’t even occurred to me to loosened my hands, it had just felt so natural for me to do as he had asked of me and for me to trust him to take care of me and make sure I do not get hurt in any kind of way.
