Chapter 8 Stop Crying; It's My Fault
- Everyone left, whereas Craig was standing still with his hand bleeding inside the bathroom. He was having a headache from the current situation.
- He always had good judgment in everything, and he admitted that he misjudged her. And he had to come up with a solution at the moment. He glanced at the woman at his side.
- She lay weakly at the side of the bathtub, and water was dripping from her hair to her cheeks and down to her pajamas. The dress became visible as it was wet, and it was tightly stuck to her body.
- Looking at what happened, it really seemed that both of them were having sex in the bathroom! He gulped and quickly looked away, and he pulled his tie restlessly.
- "I know it's my fault for the photo incident; you can ask for any compensation." He was an arrogant person, yet he was also fair.
- Gloria did not speak for a long time, and he was getting impatient. He glanced at her, realizing that her face was pale and her nose was reddened; she was pouting, and it seemed like she was trying to hold back her tears. A drop of tear streamed down from her cheeks and dropped on his hand. He felt bad when he felt the warm sensation on his hand.
- "Waa!" She suddenly cried out. She did not know about what happened, and she was so close to being killed by him! No matter how strong she seemed to be, she was only eighteen after all! She cried miserably, as if she were venting all of her sadness throughout the years!
- Craig was speechless, and his headache was even worse now. "Why are you crying? Are you trying to be pitiful? Stop it! Or I'll throw you out!"
- "Waa…" She turned to face the other side and continued to cry.
- He was losing his patience, yet he did not know how to express his displeasure. He would have thrown any woman who cried like her in front of him without hesitation. Yet he somehow felt like tolerating her, and he did not know what to do. He thought that maybe he felt guilty because he was not his actual self.
- He was helpless, and he knelt with one knee in front of her and held her chin to force her to look at him. She could not speak as her chin was being pinched; her eyes were watery and reddened; she looked like a pitiful rabbit. He said sincerely, "I’m sorry for falsely accusing you; I’ll do anything to make it up to you!"
- She glared at him for a few seconds, and she pushed his hand away. "Do you think apologizing works? Do you think I need somebody’s sympathy? There’s no one except you here! And if you want to throw me out, feel free to do it! I don’t like this place either!" As she was scolding him, his facial expression was getting darker, and she started to regret going against him. Even if she does not care about her life, she should care about her baby. She's venting out, which might be costing her life!
- He stared at her for a while, then abruptly stood up. She stuttered, and she quickly hugged herself. Suddenly, he bent down. "Craig, what are you trying to do?" She was shivering from the coldness, and she had no strength left to fight back anymore. He carried her and put her on his shoulder. She felt that her blood was all flowing to her head. She thought that he was really going to throw her out.
- She closed her eyes helplessly, and she hoped that he could throw as softly as she hoped that the baby could survive. She was being put down, and she did not feel any pain. Instead, she felt that she was lying on a soft surface. She opened her eyes and realized that she was on her bed.
- Craig was walking away, and he tried to ask for the maid to come in to change her clothes for her. He realized that the door was locked from the outside! He called out a few times, and he found out that everyone was deliberately ignoring him. And he suddenly recalled that his grandmother forbade everyone to come near them tonight. Do they think that it will last that long?
- He kicked the door angrily, yet the quality of the door was so good that it did not even bulge. And he wanted to reach for his phone inside his pocket, only realizing that he had not brought it in! He turned around and walked toward her bedside. He wanted to use her phone to call Eddy. And he saw that she had lost consciousness. Her face was too pale, and he could not be sure if she had fainted or if she was already dead. After making sure that she was still alive, he fumbled out her phone, only to see that it was out of battery!
- She had been sleeping for a long time, and somehow she felt that her body was hot and her head was about to explode. And there were footsteps around her; people were talking too, but she just could not open her eyes. It was until she heard the family doctor’s words. "Mrs. Ramirez’s fever has subsided, but I recommend she get a blood test to see if she has inflammation in case her fever comes back again." She knew that the blood test would expose her pregnancy, so she quickly woke up and glared at the doctor.
- The doctor felt her stare, and he turned around and said, "Madame Ramirez, Mrs. Ramirez is awake."
- Maria hurried over and said with concern, "Gloria, how are you? You've had a fever for one day and one night; I was dead worried!"
- She responded weakly, "Grandma, I don’t want to do a blood test. I’m afraid of blood." Seeing the drips, she said, "I feel so much better; I don’t need the drips anymore." She was worried that the medicine would cause harm to her baby. She was worried that after the saga yesterday, she might miscarry. She was secretly worried, yet Maria was joyful.
- Maria patted her shoulder softly, and she said, "Alright, I’ll listen to you. But you have to rest for a few more days; don’t overdo it! Craig was too tired to let you rest for the entire night!"
- She blushed upon hearing Maria’s words. So that the butler and grandma misunderstood what happened yesterday?
- She facepalmed and said, "Grandma, it seems like you’ve misunderstood about..."
- "In these few days, I’ll go to the church to pray and thank God for letting Craig marry you! But I’m greedy now, as I hope that you can be pregnant with my great-grandchild! And my life shall be complete!"
