Chapter 15 Differences Between People

• She was indeed telling the truth. Kelly was lost for words, and she glared at her with great jealousy. I should be the one to marry Craig!
• "Why are you being so arrogant? I was the one giving you the opportunity to marry him! What’s more, it’s impossible for Craig to fall in love with someone as ugly as you! "He'll surely divorce you soon!"
• "Who gives you the audacity to talk like this to my wife?" Some said it hoarsely.
• Gloria’s heart skipped a beat, and she looked past Kelly and fixed her gaze on Craig. He got a new haircut, and he looked great in his white suit. He looked fit and marvelous; everyone would be captivated by him. He ignored everyone, and he walked right beside Gloria. She could smell his perfume as he stood so close to her.
• She was breathing heavily, and she bit her lips. He didn’t hear me calling him my husband, right?
• Craig glanced at Kelly’s face without looking at her properly. "Eddy, tell Mr. Davis that I don’t want to see her tonight." Felix Davis was the president of the Chamber of Commerce. Eddy nodded and called Felix immediately. No one in Xana City would reject Craig’s request. It meant that Kelly could not even step foot into the hotel tonight.
• And then Craig said, "If anyone dares to say that she’s ugly, you’ll be my enemy." After warning everyone, he turned around and caressed Gloria’s hair. "Your injury hasn’t recovered yet; as your husband, I should carry you." She knew that he was mocking her, and she blushed. He bent down and easily carried her; everyone was shocked to see them walking into the hotel.
• Someone took out her phone and captured it; it was being uploaded to a group chat for rich people, and the caption was: Shocking News! Craig was enchanted by Gloria!
• Kelly was devastated as her dream was shattered by Craig; she looked at the two of them, and her face turned pale. She clenched her fists until her nails pierced her skin.
• Gloria was the most shocked of all; she was not affected by everyone’s curious look. In fact, she looked at Craig’s handsome face and asked seriously, "Craig, are you being possessed? You should let me down; I’ll ask Grandma to find a priest for you!"
• Craig was speechless. This is her reaction when every woman is jealous of her?
• He said, "Thirty million dollars."
• She was blurred and asked, "What do you mean?"
• He answered slyly, "This is the total worth of the damaged items you trashed the other day. You have two choices now: obey me for tonight or create an IOU to pay me back in one month." He never said that he would let this go.
• Gloria was dumbstruck. She should have known that he was a vengeful man! "Alright, what do you need me to do?" She gritted her teeth as she spoke. He knew that she could not possibly pay him such an amount in just one more month. Maybe I should strangle him to death now since his neck is so close to mine?
• "Hug me tight." He ordered slyly.
• She bit her lips upon hearing it. It’s just a hug; it won’t harm at all.
• A woman spoke timidly when Gloria just held his neck.
• "Mr. Ramirez, what do you mean? Shouldn’t you give me an explanation?" Jenny blocked their way, and she asked without caring about others. She heard people gossiping about Craig bringing his ugly wife to the banquet, and she did not believe it! Because she should be his partner tonight, Craig sent both a dress and an invitation card to her through his subordinate! She was nervous and excited as this was her first time participating in such a high-class banquet, yet she did not expect the reality to be like this.
• Craig’s face darkened as he saw Jenny. And Gloria was shocked when she turned around. She’s the woman in the hospital! So, he’s using me to dump his woman! He’s so disgusting and sly!
• Craig put Gloria down, and he said emotionlessly, "Why do I need to explain to you? I’m just bringing my wife to the banquet."
• His words were making Jenny feel shameless. "But you told me that you would give it a thought the last time we met!" She hinted at him. His face darkened when she asked him to marry her, and she thought that he would kill her on the spot. Yet he was silent for a while, and he said that he would think about it. She was overjoyed; no woman in the world could resist Craig’s face and his wealth!
• Craig seemed to think that it was a joke; he looked at her as if she were a clown. "Hence, I want you to know your place; your request is impossible."
• He hugged Gloria into his arms, and he said, "I have a wife, and we will be having children together in the future. I can’t be married again as it’s against the law."
• Ha, ha, ha, ha... How can he say such shameless words? Gloria was embarrassed hearing his speech; she felt that he was totally speaking the opposite.
• But Jenny seemed to be buying his words. Her face was flushed, and she seemed to be losing hope. She sobbed and said, "Mr. Ramirez, you shouldn’t humiliate me this way, even if you don’t want to marry me!" She pushed the crowd away and ran away, crying.
• Ha, ha. You’re such an emotionless man! I saw the two of you hugging each other in the hospital that day!
• She wanted to reprimand him, and she could not stand to be with him. She knew that she was merely a tool, so she asked softly, "My task is completed, right?" Can I go now?" She turned and wanted to leave, but she drugged her hand and pulled her near him. "You’re my wife; it’s only normal that you stay and socialize with me."
• He disliked socializing with people. He achieved whatever he did because of his smarts and tactics; he did not need connections. He would never attend such a boring banquet if it were not for rejecting Jenny. And he had to find someone to be boring with him too.
• On the other side, Jenny felt shameless and angry after dashing out of the hall. She did not believe that such a powerful man would love an ugly woman like her. And she did not think the two of them were close to each other, judging by their interaction.
• Is he trying to fool me by pretending to be lovey-dovey with that ugly woman? I have to go back and know the truth!
