Chapter 1 Is He Waking Up From A Coma?
- Craig Ramirez, the richest man in Xana City, got into a car accident, and he was in a coma for a month. The Ramirez family hired a lot of famous and experienced doctors to treat him, but all of them diagnosed that most likely he could not make it. Maria Moore was superstitious; she wanted to find a woman who was believed to have had a fortunate and lucky life to get married to her grandson in order to bring him a miracle.
- The grand wedding ceremony was held today. Everyone was staring at Gloria Chavez, who was in a luxurious white wedding dress; her face was covered by a veil. She stood alone in front of the priest as he said, "Kelly Chavez, starting from today onward, you’ll be Craig Ramizez’s wife. Are you willing to be with him no matter if he's rich or poor, healthy or sick?"
- Gloria remained silent for more than one minute while everyone stared strangely at her. The people from the Chavez family were worried, and Maria was unhappy about her reaction. Suddenly, she did something that shocked everyone. She pulled her veil away, and she pulled off the face mask that was tightly attached to her face. And her action exposed a deep and huge scar on her face.
- Everyone was gossiping. "Didn’t they say that Gloria is a beautiful lady? Why is she so ugly?"
- "What the h*ck? Craig might be in a coma now, but he’s still an influential individual after all! Marrying someone like her is such a humiliation!" Everyone was judging Gloria and her family, but none of them dared to explain what happened to the Ramirez family.
- All of them knew that this was Bonnie Wood’s scheme to marry her daughter into the Ramirez family. But she was not willing to really marry Kelly to a dying person. So, she actually gave her husband’s niece’s birth date to Maria. To her surprise, Gloria’s birthday was a perfect fit for Craig; she was expected to be his lucky star! Maria was overjoyed about it, and she hurriedly arranged a wedding ceremony for them.
- Bonnie was worried that the Ramirez family would not accept Gloria’s ugly appearance, so she found someone to make a face mask for her to disguise as Kelly. Yet Bonnie did not expect Gloria to expose her own ugly face to the guests at the wedding ceremony; she totally ruined her plan.
- Bonnie pretended to ask her with concern, "What do you want to do? This is your wedding day! Why are you trying to ruin it?"
- As she spoke, she looked at Gloria warningly. She was reminding Gloria that if she ruined the wedding ceremony, she would be stopping her father’s life support!
- However, just yesterday Gloria overheard her uncle and auntie’s conversation and realized that they were the ones who caused her to lose her virginity a month ago. She was determined to break away from their control!
- Gloria looked at Maria with determination, and she bowed down and said, "Sorry, Madame Ramirez, my uncle, my auntie, and I lied to you; they did this for money, and they threatened me with my dad’s life! I had to disguise myself as Kelly to marry Mr. Ramirez! The truth is, I’m Gloria, their niece. And my dad is Daniel Chavez, who has been in a coma for years!"
- Daniel and his family were kidnapped years ago, and it was rumored that none of them survived. It turned out that Daniel was in a coma, and his daughter survived with her face disfigured. Everyone was shocked. This is absurd! The Chavez family is such a fraud!
- Maria looked at William Chavez and Bonnie with disgust, and then she turned to look at Gloria, who was standing firm at the side. The scar on her face might be ugly, but her eyes were beautiful, and her skin was fair. Without the scar, she could definitely capture everyone’s eyes. And she seemed determined and strong, which is the part that impressed Maria most.
- Actually, she had secretly carried out an investigation on Gloria, and she knew about everything. She did not expose her, as the oracle predicted that her grandson could wake up marrying her! There was nothing more important than her grandson’s life; she did not care about how the woman looked or where she was from.
- Maria stood up calmly and asked Gloria, "So, are you saying that they threatened you with your father’s life? But you’re exposing them to the public now; does that mean that you don’t care about his life now?"
- Gloria said pleadingly, "So I would like to make a deal with you now."
- Maria looked at her with surprise, as she had barely met someone who dared to make such a request. She purposely answered in a lowered voice, "Tell me, what do you want?"
- "I will marry into the Ramirez family, but you have to save my father from them. And from now on, I’m not related to the Chavez family anymore, so the Ramirez family doesn’t have to respond to the Chaver family’s request in the future."
- Her request had made every guest mock and laugh at her. "You’re just an ugly woman; who do you think you are? Do you think it’s hard for the Ramirez family to find another woman to get married to Craig? Money can make anything happen!"
- Maria pondered for a while; she knew that there were a whole lot of better candidates out there. But it might be hard to find someone compatible like her who might be able to wake Craig up. "Okay, I agree!"
- At night, there was a man in a white suit lying on the bed. He seemed no different from any normal human being from afar. Yet, if someone were to look at him closer, it could be seen that his face was unhealthily pale. He looked intimidating, even in this state.
- Gloria sat at his bedside, and she was having mixed feelings looking at her newlywed husband. She was feeling happy as she could finally be freed from William and his wife, and she was out of the Chavez family that caused her devastation. Whether Bonnie was willing or not, she had to hand her father over under Maria’s influence. And Maria arranged for him to live in a high-class private hospital in Zelle City. At the same time, Gloria was sad because she had to keep her promise. She just got out of the imprisonment of the Chavez family, and now she is locked up in the Ramirez family. And she had to spend the rest of her life with the stranger in front of her. Yet she did not regret it because her father and she could be safe now.
- She held his hand and put it under the blanket; the skin of his hand was thick, and he seemed like someone who was extremely powerful. "Mr. Ramirez, I hope we can have a nice life together." She said it lightly.
- Luckily, she was married to a coma patient; if not, she could not bring herself to sleep right next to a total stranger. She could not accept it. Suddenly, she felt that his hand was holding hers, as if he were giving her a response. She thought that she was hallucinating, but it was indeed happening!
- She saw his hand exerting force to hold hers back, and her eyes widened. "Somebody… Somebody come now! Craig is waking up!"
