Chapter 9
- I go about my chores the next morning with a lot on my mind. I waited all night for Thomas to call for me, but he never did. I'm guessing he didn't return yesterday as Kim presumed, or worse, he's simply plotting a way to kill me without leaving any evidence. Thinking about it causes my body to shake and a cold shiver to run down my spine. I couldn't sleep all night, terrified of what Thomas would do to me, and I couldn't concentrate on the task at hand. Knowing it won't do me any good if they find fault in my work, I decide to distract myself from the thoughts that are clogging my mind by singing.
- I loved singing when I was younger, and still do. Singing one of my favorite artist's best songs, I begin a mini show for the chairs and tables. I'm singing a song by The Weeknd, "Earned It."
- I walk to the back of a chair and place my hands on its edge; if someone were sitting in it, my hands would be on their shoulders. I sway my hips slowly left to right, dropping to the floor as my hands slide down the front of the chair. As I stand, I bend forward and brush my fingers up my leg, flipping my hair back.
