• I tell Mrs. Costanzo everything. I don’t withhold any information about why I betrayed Thomas. I hope she believes me because it would be nice to have someone who does. It’s been a minute since I finished explaining myself while sitting on Mrs. Costanzo’s couch in her living room.
• “I believe you, dear.”
• My eyes light up. I can’t believe what I just heard Kat say. I never imagined someone believing I had no choice but to betray Thomas. Kat has no idea how much it means to me. That’s the only good thing that has happened since I arrived.
