Chapter 53

• Once again, I drowned in darkness. My heart accelerated while a bitter taste coated my tongue. I struggled to come out of said darkness but my body did not move. I felt trapped in my skin.
• “Cass – Cassius, please,” I pleaded. “You have to – Cass, no!” I reached out a hand to come out of the darkness and a rough hand grabbed mine.
• I gasped as my eyes snapped open to see Alpha Koa holding my hand. Sweat poured down my face. I held on to his hand like my life depended on it, gasping for breath, my chest tingling.
