• “You are not a child! Why are you crying in public?” My father continued to scold me but I buried my face in Cassius’ arms and continued to cry.
• In the past, I hated my father for how harsh he was and thought he hated me but now I realized he was clumsy with showing his affection. He did not like seeing me cry and he did not know how to comfort me so he yelled and offered to buy me a cart filled with jewelry.
• “Stop this nonsense! Stop crying!” The more my father yelled at me, the harder I cried in Cassius’ arms.
