• I was beyond livid that Steve was not with the other workers. After my conversation with my father, I promised him that Steve was a hard worker and would not disobey an order. I found him missing when I went to collect him. I called for two hunters to come to me while the shit diggers stood along the wall with their heads between their knees.
• I was about to send the two hunters down the trail when we started to hear footsteps coming toward us from the tunnels. While I was questioning Steve I sent one of the hunters down the tunnel to make sure Steve’s story was the truth. It wouldn’t be the first time a story like this was told to us.
