- “Merely the fact that Jonathan is still among us is a blessing enough for me. I scarcely dare to hope for more,” Eloise confessed, her voice quivering with contained sorrow. “Dad, I won't mislead you, I'm genuinely fearful this young woman might exacerbate his condition.”
- “I understand your concerns, but perhaps we might attempt this approach just this once,” the old man reasoned gently, remembering past circumstances. “You know, Isaac's arm injury looked quite severe a couple of weeks ago. Yet today, when I examined it, it had completely healed.”
