Chapter 8 I'm Not Leaving Tonight
- The sound of water running came from the kitchen shortly.
- "I'm going to take a look, Grandpa." Amelia was worried. She smiled and held the old man's hand. "He must never have done the dishes before. I have to teach him."
- After that, she rose and went to the kitchen.
- Isaac was standing before the kitchen sink and using dishwashing liquid.
- "Can you do it? Do you need my help?" Amelia knew well that she couldn't offend him while staying under his roof.
- "It’s fine. I can do it.” Isaac’s stifling voice rang, sounding highly reluctant.
- He was perplexed by Wildred’s remarks. Grandpa is mine or hers?
- Amelia was slightly uneasy. She hesitated briefly before immediately reaching out to grab the plate in Isaac’s hand. He had just polished it with dishwashing liquid, and it slipped as she seized it in her hands.
- As Isaac watched the plate almost fly out of his grasp, he quickly clutched the sides of the plate, and his wet hands instantly covered Amelia’s.
- He felt her tender hands beneath his, and his heart skipped a beat. For a moment, he couldn’t tell if he was feeling so nervous because he was surprised or if there were other underlying reasons…
- Amelia breathed a sigh of relief with the crisis averted, but she felt the atmosphere had become more awkward. She had almost inconvenienced Isaac instead of helping him.
- Isaac snatched the plate from her and rinsed it again, saying indifferently, “You can leave. Let me do it.”
- She pursed her lips and said nothing before tactfully turning to leave.
- In no time, Isaac heard Wilfred's joyful laughter quickly ringing outside.
- "Lia, I'm not leaving tonight! I'll stay and watch you spend your wedding night together!"
- Isaac's fingers trembled while doing the dishes, and he almost dropped the plate. His gaze darkened, and he was significantly taken aback.
- However, Amelia didn't overthink. This is Isaac’s house. His grandpa could stay at will.
- "Lia." The old man suddenly turned solemn and said to her, "Look for a time and arrange for both your families to meet, okay? Although you and Isaac have already registered your marriage, you still need to go through the process of holding a wedding."
- Amelia had been worried about this, and Wilfred had brought it up.
- "Grandpa, I don't need a wedding ceremony," Amelia said honestly, "my family is in a bit of a mess. My adoptive father is a gambler. He has a lot of debts."
- "My adoptive mother is caring for my younger brother, who's in his senior year of high school. She doesn't have time to be bothered about me. I got married… because I was looking for a companion and a place to stay. Thank you for considering me, Grandpa."
- Old Mr. Marrow wasn't surprised when he listened to her. He didn't look down on her either. In fact, he felt that she was honest.
- The old man had long investigated her family situation.
- "Lia, no matter what it is, as the groom's family, we must do our best regarding etiquette. You can't go on forever without the two families meeting, right?" Wilfred understood her perspective.
- Amelia was dumbstruck and felt slightly awkward.
- The old man wasn't worried. He still had a kind smile on his face. "I won't force you to do anything. Promise me you'll consider this thoroughly, alright?"
- "Alright." The girl could only nod.
- Isaac came out shortly after washing the dishes. "I'm going to reply to an email." After that, he entered the study room.
- On the living room couch, Wilfred held Amelia's hand. He told her many stories about Isaac's childhood.
- Around nine o'clock at night, Wilfred warmed some milk in the kitchen.
- The two young people drank the milk unsuspectingly. The old man sat on the couch and waved at them. "Go and sleep in the room. Ignore me. I'll sleep on this couch tonight."
- "Grandpa, there are guest rooms." Amelia feared he would catch a cold.
- "It's alright. I like sleeping on the couch." After that, he put down his walking stick and lay down on his side on the couch. He stared straight at the master bedroom's doors. "Go in."
- Isaac was dumbfounded.
- He was blown away. Wilfred was forcing him to sleep in the same room as his wife, whom he had wedded hurriedly!
- Amelia also immediately felt slightly embarrassed.
- Everyone was momentarily silent.
- Isaac turned and entered the master bedroom. He didn't shut the doors.
- Old Mr. Marrow furrowed his brows and said to Amelia, "Lia, why are you staring blankly? Quickly go in and rest! Quickly head in."
- Amelia could only go to the bedroom to fetch a comforter for Old Mr. Marrow before returning to the master bedroom.
- When Old Mr. Marrow watched the door shut, his face split into a contented smile.
- After Amelia entered the bedroom, she heard water running in the bathroom. She could faintly see the man’s muscular figure through the frosted glass that separated the bathroom from the bedroom.
- She suddenly felt something akin to an electric current running through her body as she gradually started to feel hot. Her cheeks flushed unconsciously, and this bizarre feeling left her restless.
- In the bathroom, Isaac’s breathing was hurried. He could visibly see increased blood flow to his lower body. His brows furrowed tightly, and his eyes gleamed as he immediately felt something was amiss.
- An intense desire enveloped him, almost engulfing him.
- He rushed to turn off the warm water, but dousing himself in cold water was useless. This overwhelming feeling was growing more intense by the minute. He was gradually losing control of his young, vibrant body!
- He was confident that there was something wrong with the milk just now. He knew his grandfather had tampered with it.
- Meanwhile, Amelia wasn’t doing much better in the bedroom.
- After fidgeting restlessly in the bathroom for a long time, Isaac’s rationality was on the brink of collapse.
- The drug was too potent, and he couldn’t resolve his urges alone.
- He opened the bathroom door and instantly saw the hot and bothered girl lying on the bed.
- She looked highly delicate yet stunning as her long, soft, black hair lay scattered under her. At that moment, she was dangerously alluring to Isaac.
- For the first time in his life, Isaac couldn’t control himself. He approached her, meeting her stunned and confused gaze.
- Her crimson lips parted slightly, and he could faintly see the pink tip of her tongue within her mouth. Isaac’s gaze darkened, and his Adam’s apple rumbled...
