Chapter 2 Sold Off
- When she rushed home, her mother was sitting on the couch with tears in her eyes. A red, swollen mark was on her face.
- "Mom, did he hit you?" Amelia was fearful and looked around. She lost her temper. "Where is he?!"
- "Lia, why did you come back?" Juliana Meech was so anxious she wanted to cry. She thought her daughter was done for.
- Before Amelia could react, Ronan led three men through the doors.
- "This girl is my daughter, Amelia. Take her away!" He had drunk alcohol, and his steps were slightly unsteady, but his voice sounded pleased.
- Amelia saw a bald, potbellied man stare at her with a nasty smile. He also had a long scar from a knife wound on his face.
- She never thought her nightmare would begin so quickly!
- "Not only is this girl pretty, but her name also sounds nice. Melia! I like it!"
- He was salivating as he stared obsessively at Amelia. He smiled sinisterly and signaled to the people around him.
- Two strong men rushed over to grab Amelia. "This way, Ms. Bonham!" His voice was rough, and his actions were very crude!
- "Amelia!" Her mother, Juliana, was terrified.
- "Let go!" The girl struggled angrily. Her gaze was stubborn. "Let go of me! I have the freedom to marry whoever I want. What you're doing is illegal!"
- "Illegal? Isn't gambling illegal? I don't care about the law. I only care about money!" Ronan reeked of alcohol. "You're only worth two hundred thousand because you're young. In the future, no one will want you even if they're paid! Quickly take her away!"
- Amelia's rage was irrepressible. "You'll pay for this, Ronan Bonham!"
- "Ronan, I beg you not to do this!" Juliana wasn't her usual weak self as she pleaded with him. "Amelia isn't your daughter! You have no right to do this!"
- "She isn't my biological daughter, but I provided for her all these years! It's time for her to repay me! Get lost!" The man waved his arm and knocked his wife down. She fell on the coffee table and immediately hit her forehead. Fresh blood started flowing.
- "Mom!" Amelia was nervous with worry, but she couldn't escape no matter what.
- Ronan, who was going berserk, grabbed his wife's hair. He warned her ferociously. "Stupid woman. Don't get in my way!" Juliana's head was lifted from being grabbed, and she let out an unbearable howl.
- "Mom!" Amelia stomped her feet anxiously. "Let go of her!"
- "Amelia, if you dare resist today, I'll kill her!"
- She looked at Ronan's menacing and heinous gaze and saw the fresh blood flowing from her mother's forehead. Amelia forced herself to calm down and restrained the splitting pain in her heart. "Alright. I'll go with them!"
- She knew he had gone mad. He was capable of anything since he was burning all his bridges.
- "Mom! Take care…" Tears filled the girl's eyes. As long as she was still alive, she had to save her mother from suffering.
- Amelia was taken away from Bonham Residence by the local tyrant and forcefully pushed into a van.
- The local tyrant told his subordinates to let go of her because he knew it was hard for her to escape. He sat beside her. "Girl, you smell good."
- He took pity on the girl, who had an icy expression and tear-filled eyes. "Darling, you're beautiful. Don't worry. I'll care for you well." He couldn't help but reach out to pull her into his arms.
- "Let go of me! Stupid hoodlum!" Amelia pushed him away forcefully. "I'm married!"
- He wasn't surprised at all. In fact, he liked seeing Amelia so spirited. "Don't worry. You're such a pretty girl. I'd want you even if you were divorced."
- After that, he reached out to touch her thighs. Amelia screamed in fright, but the local tyrant leaned toward her…
- "Let me go, you stupid thug!" Amelia struggled with all her might.
- The more she resisted, the more excited the local tyrant grew. He smiled despicably. "Girl, you're mine sooner or later. Stop playing hard to get. Your dad has taken my money."
- Amelia was filled with despair and thought she was done for.
- 'Screech!'
- The piercing sound of the car braking resonated loudly. The car started to wobble and slow down. Because of inertia, everyone was thrown forward and hit their heads in one way or another.
- The car stopped steadily.
- "D*mn it!" The local tyrant grimaced and swore angrily.
- The car door was pulled open, and a few men in shades and suits surrounded the car with solemn expressions. They signaled for everyone to get out of the vehicle.
