Chapter 6 Delia

  • Allison got to the hospital with renewed vigour. She deposited the payment and asked the doctors to commence treatment. For once, she was going to sleep well at night. She was still scared, but she was hopeful.
  • Allison entered Kylie's ward without the usual moodiness on her face. She even seemed brighter.
  • "Hey Kylie. I finally got the money for your treatment. I told you I would " She smiled a little. "Just be strong for me okay and wake up soon."
  • She sat down and she finally felt all her exhaustion telling on her. In a few minutes, she drifted to sleep.
  • Allison woke up in her bedroom the next morning, got ready and decided to meet with her friend. She had sent Delia a text the previous night that they should meet up.
  • Delia had been her friend since high school. They went to the same college and have been through a lot together. She and Delia told each other everything, but she don't know how to tell her about Calvin, as Delia had always been too protective of her. But she knew that she was going to tell her anyway.
  • ******
  • Inside a small restaurant, Allison was seen with a sophisticated looking girl dressed in a black jean and a leather jacket with her hair tied in a ponytail, with deep blue irises peering intently at her.
  • "what... what did you just say? Calvin? You mean the CEO of Bruce enterprise?" Delia asked with an exaggerated excitement.
  • "Keep it down will you?"
  • "How do you expect me to be calm about this? No way! How did you do it? I always knew that you were too beautiful for your own good. Do you know how handsome and super rich he is? So you are telling me that Calvin Bruce asked you to be his girlfriend? Somebody pinch me." Allison could only roll her eyes at her annoying friend. Delia had always been so dramatic.
  • "Yes." She knew she lied about being his girlfriend, but she couldn't bring herself to tell her that she was going to be his so called 'possession'.
  • Delia would have been jumping if it wasn't for the people around them and for the fact Allison was staring at her with a threatening gaze.
  • "whoa... And he paid for Kylie's bills?" Delia continued, and Allison only nodded.
  • "I'm so happy for you Ally, I was so scared and I knew you were scared too. I wish Kylie will just get up from there, she doesn't deserve this you know. she's too good for this world." She said in a solemn voice, before sighing tiredly. Allison chuckled.
  • "What's so funny?"
  • "You are really a drama queen you know. Just a few moments ago, you were practically screaming and now you are sad. Your ability to switch between moods in seconds still baffles me."
  • "Whatever." She rolled her eyes and picked up glass of wine to drink.
  • "Uhm... Calvin wants me to live with him." Allison finally confessed to her, but with a very low voice.
  • "What?!" She almost choked on her drink, spilling it out and coughing hard.
  • "Isn't it too soon? Have he taken you on any dates? Live with him? No way! That's not happening, at least not yet. I haven't even met him. I need to tell him not to mess with you first. Don't tell me you agreed to this." Now she was getting annoyed.
  • "Delia calm down. He helped me with Kylie you know. I don't know how I would have gotten the money if it wasn't for him." Allison tried to persuade her.
  • "I'm sorry Ally. But if he does anything you don't like, just let me know."
  • Allison chuckled, knowing that Delia could not do anything to Calvin.
  • "Yes mum." She replied playfully.
  • "So when are you moving?" Delia then asked her after she had calmed down.
  • "Tomorrow."
  • "Tomorrow? Allison!" She said a little too loud.
  • "Delia, you are embarrassing me, can you please bring your voice down?" Allison pleaded with her in a hushed tone. "I'm moving in with Calvin tomorrow, don't make a huge deal out of it."
  • "Whatever Ally. I guess I still have to support you on this one. Now that you have a super rich boyfriend and Kylie's medical bills had been paid, I guess I will just to keep the money I saved up for myself." Delia revealed, eyes gleaming with excitement.
  • "You saved up?"
  • "Yes. Kylie needed it."
  • "You are the best friend a girl could have Didi."
  • "I know, I know." They burst out laughing
  • "Have you told Kenny about it?"
  • "I have. He made a huge fuss out of it." She sighed. "Are you still dating...uhm... I don't even know his name. whatever! Are you still dating him?" She asked trying to change the topic.
  • "Forget about him, he's a douchebag. I even have my eyes set on someone else now." Delia told her, a mischievous smirk dancing on her lips.
  • "You always do."
  • "Well, a girl needs to have fun."
  • Allison could only face palm. Delia's unserious relationships was nothing new to her. She would always change her boyfriends once she got bored of them. She never dated with her heart.
  • "You will need to open up your heart someday Didi. I know that you decided not to open your heart again after Mason but you really need to let go."
  • Delia felt her heart ache at the mention of Mason.
  • Mason was her ex boyfriend whom she fell hopelessly in love with. They dated for two years and broke up when he told her that he was betrothed to someone else and that they couldn't get married. She had begged him on different occasions to take her back stripping herself of every pride, yet he paid a deaf ear to her. 'You know we can never work out, my parents will never accept you. You have nothing a offer and Kate is an heiress', he said to her one time.
  • Mason was from a very wealthy family and he was obliged to marry Kate who was the heiress to the Wayne's family asset.
  • Delia hadn't been able to let Mason go ever since. She was still hopelessly in love with him. So she tried dating different guys to help her forget him but now at the mention of his name, her heart still ached.
  • "I can't Ally. I just can't." She hated herself for loving someone like that. He had moved on and she was still there, wishing he would come back for her.
  • "I won't open my heart again Ally. I can't take another heartbreak."
  • Allison's heart sank at her friend's words, she stood up and gave her a hug.
  • "You are going to find the right one someday Delia. I know it."
