• “He spoke about a bond,” Elara said, her voice firm. “A bond between us, something he called fate. He said it was in my blood, that I was destined to be with him. What did he mean by that?”
• There was a brief silence before one of the other elders, a woman with sharp eyes named Alina, spoke up. “Vesper is a master manipulator. He preys on the weaknesses of others, especially those with untapped potential. The bond he speaks of may not be what you think.”
