• Elara’s mind raced as she absorbed the news. This was it. The test she had been preparing for. She could no longer stand in the shadows, could no longer rely on Damien alone to protect them. The time had come for her to step up, to show the pack that she was capable of leading them.
• “We’ll prepare,” Elara said, her voice steady. “Gather the council and make sure the warriors are ready. I’ll speak with Damien.”
• Lyra nodded and quickly left the room, leaving Elara standing there, her mind already racing with plans and strategies. The darkness she had fought off was still there, lurking in the back of her mind, but now was not the time to let it consume her. There was a war to fight, and she needed to be ready.
