• Elara’s head snapped up at the sound of the voice, and she saw one of the pack’s scouts approaching, his face grim. His name was Gideon, a young but skilled warrior who had been with the pack for several years. He was one of the few who had ventured into the northern territories in the past, and his knowledge of the land made him a valuable asset.
• “What is it?” Elara asked, her voice steady but alert.
• “We’ve found something,” Gideon said, his eyes scanning the camp as if ensuring they weren’t being overheard. “A group of wolves, not from the northern pack. They’ve been moving in and out of the territory for days. I think they’ve been watching us.”
