• Bella gasped with shock at what she said. It had been a long while since they had last met, and there was no way he would agree to attend his own birthday celebration with her.
• "Now, get up, it's time for breakfast," Selene said, causing Bella to quickly rise from her seat. As she stood, Kurt watched her movements, wondering why his brother was taking so long to claim her as his mate.
• "Mother, don't you think it's time for my brother to claim his mate?" Kurt asked, causing both women to turn their heads towards him. Bella quickly left the room, not wanting to hear any more discussion about her.
