• Daniel ordered room service for lunch. There was a reason why he had taken so long to meet me at the gas station. He had contemplated it before going. I literally paced around my bedroom, weighing the pros and cons repeatedly. Somehow, the pros outweighed the cons, and I knew I would regret not seeing him.
• We were lounging on his bed, enjoying the perfect lazy Sunday. He had answered some business calls, but I didn’t mind. I was happy to be close to him. As I waited for an email with the final exam schedules for the semester, followed by a holiday period before starting the second semester, the TV was on. A news report about a chase reflected on the screen, showing censored images of the fleeing criminal alongside a photograph of the now deceased. Daniel ended the call and approached the TV, looking shocked by the news.
