Chapter 67
- Narrated by Daniel
- Work was kicking my ass. My personal life was too. I had meeting after meeting, flights from city to city. After a bad investment, my company was in a tough economic situation, but I had been working hard to turn things around. Although at times, my focus worked against me. I couldn’t help but think of her. Letting go of Amelia had been difficult. These months without her had left me feeling empty and lost. All I could do was work and keep my mind occupied. I didn’t want to think about what she might be doing—perhaps forming new friendships, attending parties, or meeting someone new. And on top of that, I hadn’t heard from my father. He hadn’t contacted me again. Everything was silent. He was still on the run.
- There was a knock on my door, and I called for the person to come in. Carolina entered briskly with a manila folder in hand.
