• My eyes snapped open, and I sat up in bed, drenched in my own sweat. I looked around for Luciana, but she wasn’t with me. The bright lights sent a sharp pain to my head, and severe dizziness threw me back onto the bed. My hand reached up to touch my forehead and found a cloth. A bandage? Confusion hit me as I opened my eyes again and looked around. I was in a hospital room.
• “You’re finally awake. Welcome back, Mr. Brown.” My eyes turned to the nurse entering my room, causing another wave of dizziness.
