Chapter 31

• Narrated by Luciana.
• I woke up startled from a nightmare that felt too real. I shook off the horrible images from my dream and sat up, only to quickly realize that I was already sitting. I wasn’t in bed. A sharp pain radiated inside my head, and I pulled at my arms, but they were immobilized behind me.
• “Oh God. Where am I? How did I get here?” I said, my mind so confused. It seemed like I couldn’t focus. Everything hurt. Panic took over me when I realized I was tied to a chair. I pulled at my arms again, and a severe pain shot up my back. The fabric was tight around my eyes. I couldn’t see anything. I tried to listen for sounds, but it was eerily silent. I didn’t know whether to scream for help or stay silent.
