Chapter 44 I'll Give You Anything

• Kostantin couldn't believe the doctor's words, he refused to believe them. Life couldn't be so unfair. The doctor must have made a mistake, he thought to himself. He felt a lack of air and had to take a deep breath to normalize the flow of air to his lungs. Feeling helpless and momentarily forgetting where he was, he hit the table.
• "This is a damn nightmare! It can't be true!" he exclaimed in pain. "There must be a mistake. Maybe the doctor confused her with another patient." He saw the doctor's expression of regret and knew that denial wouldn't achieve anything. "Why? Why does this have to happen to Natalia? Tell me, what should we do? Where do we find a donor? Find one now! And let's do the transplant as soon as possible," he said exasperatedly, while the doctor let out a deep sigh.
• "Mr. Petrakis, please calm down. I understand your pain, your helplessness. I see it in so many patients in your situation. Listen to me! Donors are not easily found. Natalia needs to be added to a waiting list and wait for her turn to find a compatible donor."
