Chapter 49 The Truth
- The days after the ambush had been brutal. Losing so many of our own in that attack—it was a wound that would take a long time to heal. But despite it all, the Red Moon Pack was standing strong. Calder had offered us his land in the south, a small but solid community of Lycan pack members who had pledged their loyalty to me. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to give us the breathing room we needed.
- We started again. Slowly, we rebuilt.
- Men arrived, swelling our ranks as they swore their allegiance to me. More Lycan families followed suit, and our training began again. Everyone was working hard, preparing for the war that was inevitably coming. But as much as I tried to focus on the future, on the battle ahead, the past haunted me.
