Chapter 40 Remy In Safety

• I couldn't believe that we were rushed away by Ghazi's guard. The adrenaline made me feel like I was in some kind of movie, but the pounding of my heart didn't slow until we arrived at our destination. What they said was his safe house looked like a cute little cottage about an hour's drive away from his mansion. My heart was back to normal, the excitement had faded away after the drive to his safe house, though I was still not sure about the four guards and two black SUVs parked outside. It was still intimidating, but I try to remain calm.
• "Are we in real danger?" I asked out of curiosity almost three hours later. I didn't care if I'd be in trouble, what I want to know was if my being there might have caused him trouble. I didn't like feeling like he needed to be responsible for me.
• "We're not. My men are just being cautious, things are a bit hectic back home and my cousin thinks it could follow me here. I'm sorry if I dragged you into this."
