• Erick and Raven leave me to talk with the vampire. Erick is not happy, and neither is Raven. I know they are both concerned. Now I have two men watching me constantly, making sure I do not do anything stupid or reckless. I plan to keep both of them busy, keeping me out of trouble. At least, until I figure out what is going on with this vampire, I will not be backing down from this.
• The vampire stands at the back of the cell. He is watching me closely. "We only have five minutes. Who are you, and what do you want?" I ask him. I watch him, and he is watching me. His eyes move with his body.
