Her eyes were closed, and her chest rose and fell with each breath, the rise and fall almost imperceptible. Because of me, I couldn't shake the guilt that washed over me as I realized the extent of the damage I had caused. It was clear that my actions had taken a toll on her, and I knew I needed to make things right.
